TrustPoint Governance was founded by Tom Proverbs-Garbett in 2024. 

Tom has over 15 years' experience in professional services across a wealth of sectors. He trained and qualified as a corporate lawyer, having read Law at the University of Cambridge, eventually leading the UK governance and company secretarial function for a top-20 law firm. As well as stints in industry, Tom has most recently worked as a Corporate Governance consultant for a multi-national accounting firm.

Tom is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (formerly ICSA), a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. He holds an MBA.

Tom prides himself on his solution-focused and user-friendly approach whilst being able to get to grips with difficult problems quickly. He passionately believes that corporate governance is the cornerstone in making businesses successful.

Tom is an author and is in demand for his thought leadership and public speaking. He is committed to life-long learning. 

Tom lives in the West Midlands with his wife and young children.
